Love?!

I've always meant to express love in very many but very few words because this is definitely not a story. Interact with me on the comments about your ideas.

Love,

It's nothing close to what they write on novels or what I've watched in movies. A love story once chaotic somehow ends up with making up and making out and a little tragedy at the end then somehow there is a happily ever after. Or a once great love being met by tragedy and it's a matter of "I wish we did this and that" but no happy ending. I've read books of old about tales of love. I've memorized the life of Romeo and Juliet. I've rewatched titanic a couple of times, and Rose and Jack did make so much sense to me. I've read and read all the way to Alcyone and Ceyx, Eros and Psyche, Apollo and Daphne and it all goes down to two tiny silly hearts.

Then goes the other lot, love is a game of hearts, a little less like poker, a bit more like chess. To love is to gamble for chances. And so what is the prize? Love is blind. Oh but how does it see? Love is all the things you hate about yourself stuffed in another person so now love is familiarity of your shortcomings? Love is a universal law you can't go much away without it. But it is not. Love is how you write your life story. But do we have to write this story? Love is Chemistry and what nots but how is love so many loud and out of this world things. Yet falling in love is the simplest things to do? So I dismiss that lot...

Which leaves us with me. I believe, love is a choice you make and you keep making it every single day. You pull a person out of a billion plus potential dating pool and choose them and you keep choosing them. Love is in the little things. It's in "This song makes me think about you", "I got you your favorite candy", "Good morning, have a wonderful day", "I'll prepare your bath", "Come and watch the sky with me", "Catch a movie with me", "Here are pictures of the wholesome sunset you missed", "Everything will be okay", "Tell me about your childhood", "How did you live through your teenage years?" What did you dream of becoming as a kid?" and the tiny, little, small things. Love is looking them in the eyes and  reassuring them, fixing their collars before they step out, making their favorite food, going to their favorite restaurant, supporting their wild and stupid dreams, dancing with just them in the middle of the night when the whole world is silent. It's the stupid pillow fights and the meeting in the middle. Idolizing them, painting them, writing letters to them, sending them funny TikToks...

Love is drawing circles around their scars and asking, "What's the story here?" Gently. Love is not a game and it's not a twisted story. It is as straight forward as it could be.

The world is not a playground and definitely hearts would never be. Unless you are for that cult. But here is the twist, love will not always be on time. Right person wrong time is a thing. Love has to compromise so many things, love is exhausting, love gets ugly and it's totally rough around the edges. There is a thin line between love and obsession, lust, boredom, infatuations, fantasy, comfort, passion and more stuff. But mostly love will never be a neat checklist tied in a cute pink bow.

This is just half of it, the other half is quite a bummer but tonight we are soft. Material girls don't come at me please πŸ˜‚πŸ’”!!!

I enjoyed writing this one!
